Will we be rescued???

Whom ever wins this election will be sure to have a lot of work cut out for them. Will military conflict end if Obama is in? Will McCain reform the extreem fraud in the Federal government? I guess not! sorry to be a pessimist..a nay sayer..!!

OK lemme explain why...our country is not run by elected officials...it is run by Corporations! There are some great people in government..we must supprt them...! BUT...BUT...our work is not done just because we voted!!

one important issue that will affect us has made a bit of news is the supreme court is hearing about Pre emption. What the heck is this?? Basically it can makes phamaceutical companies immune from liability if they kill you, or harm you or decieve you. WOW is this for real...afraid so....read more below

----Drug companies are using the pre-emption argument as a legal defense in a wide variety of lawsuits, and the Supreme Court is expected to hear such a case, concerning the company Wyeth, in the fall. Before that, however, a lower federal court is expected to rule on whether pre-emption can be used to dismiss lawsuits by more than 3,000 women who claim that they were injured by using Johnson & Johnson's OrthoEvra birth control patch...source

----Catherine Sharkey, a professor at New York University School of Law, said, "Federal pre-emption is the fiercest battle in products liability law today." source

----On November 3rd the Supreme Court will hear the case of Wyeth v. Levine, which has been called the "business case of the century" -- and with good reason. In essence, Monday's ruling will decide if patients have the right to sue pharmaceutical companies for personal injuries stemming from prescription drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is the big one, folks. source

----High court set to give the FDA and Big Pharma a license to kill Supremes could also reopen doors for courts to award damages when drugs main and kill consumers

By Scott Thurston

On February 25, 2008, oral argument will be heard before the U.S. Supreme Court concerning a state citizen’s ability to bring suit against a pharmaceutical company when injury and/or death occurs as a direct result..... source

----Levine disagrees. She says the FDA is protecting the drug companies from lawsuits, rather than protecting consumers from dangerous drugs. "I had no idea what the risks were," she says of her ordeal with the Wyeth-produced antinausea drug. source

Cancer Confusion....

The Evidence Gap
Quickly Vetted, Treatment Is Offered to Patients
By REED ABELSON
After a surgeon removed a cancerous lump from Karen Medlock’s breast in November, he recommended radiation, a routine next step meant to keep cancer from recurring.

But he did not send her for the kind of radiation most women have received for decades.

Instead, the surgeon referred her to a center in Oakland, Calif., specializing in a newer form of treatment where radioactive “seeds” are inserted in the tumor site. It could be completed in only five days instead of the six weeks typically required for conventional treatment, which irradiates the entire breast using external beams.

To Ms. Medlock, it seemed an obvious choice. The newer treatment — given through a system called MammoSite — has been performed on about 45,000 breast cancer patients in this country since the Food and Drug Administration cleared it for use in 2002.

Only when Ms. Medlock, 49, sought a second opinion did she learn a startling truth: MammoSite is still highly experimental.

The MammoSite system is among the thousands of devices the F.D.A. lets onto the market each year after only cursory review and with no clear evidence that they help patients. Doctors are free to use those products as they see fit, without telling patients that the devices are not proved. And because the doctors are frequently paid more by Medicare as a way to compensate them for the extra time and expense of adopting ......read more here

Propaganda now known as Public relations

The American approach to social control
is so much more sophisticated and pervasive

that it deserves a new name

It not propaganda any more, it's “prop-agenda”

It's not so much the control of what we think,

but the control of what we think about

Propaganda for Dummies
In the West the calculated manipulation of public opinion to serve political and ideological interests is much more covert and therefore much more effective than a propaganda system imposed in a totalitarian regime.

Its greatest triumph is that we generally don't notice the influence of propaganda — or laugh at the notion it even exists.

We watch the democratic process taking place - heated debates in which we feel we could have a voice — and think that, because we have “free” media, it would be hard for the Government to get away with anything very devious without someone calling them on it.

The American approach to social control is so much more sophisticated and pervasive that it really deserves a new name.

It isn't just propaganda any more, it's “prop-agenda.” It's not so much the control of what we think, but the control of what we think about.

When our governments want to sell us a course of action, they do it by making sure it's the only thing on the agenda, the only thing everyone's talking about.

And they pre-load the ensuing discussion with highly selected images, devious and prejudicial language, dubious linkages, weak or false “intelligence” and selected “leaks”.

With the ground thus prepared, governments are happy if you then “use the democratic process” to agree or disagree — for, after all, their intention is to mobilise enough headlines and conversation to make the whole thing seem real and urgent.

The more emotional the debate, the better. Emotion creates reality, reality demands action.

Keeping the People Passive & Obedient

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views.
