Seems like every day there is something in the news about Vaccines...and that is good. Today is an odd bit of news ..but very telling...the Atlanta AP says

.."About one in 10 U.S. doctors who vaccinate privately insured children are considering dropping that service largely because they are losing money when they do it, according to a new survey."

Reading this article made me recall a visit to Missoula doc Ted Lane to get the kids in compliance with the Mandated T-Dap shot....He was defensive and cavalier when questioned about the safety and or need of this vaccine...I wonder how eager he would be to give shots if he didn't make any $$$$$ off the Jabs? I had expected an intelligent and professional response after hearing about Ted's progressive opinion's on other health related things like dairy.
The article goes on to say

..."About half said they had delayed buying at least one vaccine because of the cost. Roughly one in five said they felt strongly that reimbursement for the purchase and administration of vaccines was not adequate."

I understand that doctors have a business, well they quaintly call it a practice but more and more it is a business...and I do not blame the docs...they are the ones on the front line...they depend on other support networks to help them help us, like they need adequate insurance. We all believe in the basic concept of insurance...but in my opinion the insurance industry is an evil parasite screwing us all. Then the pharma industry is supplying Doc's with bogus information and drugs undermining the entire system to make a a lot of money. So money becomes the big emphasis...to pay the high insurance premiums...they gotta push marginal if not idiotic drugs to make more money. The article continues with

...."Most pediatricians are likely to keep giving vaccinations to kids, partly because of altruism and partly because giving shots drives business. "For us to give up vaccines would hurt our core business because that's why kids come in," Lessin said.

But family practice doctors — who are not as dependent on vaccinations for patients — may decide the shots are too much of a financial headache, he added."

So then we see the propaganda machine at work scaring the lemmings into the clinics for some kinda treatment to avoid some horrible malady that was manufactured by the drug companies and/or the media. like the vaccine for HPV...the article ends by mentioning this cost..."

Some have been unusually expensive, including Gardasil, a vaccine for girls against cervical cancer which is given in three doses over six months and is priced at about $375 for the series."

I don't feel bad for the doc's, most wont embrace any change...its the way they were schooled and then if one of their comrades does so with out group approval...watch out! They may just lynch anyone that attempts or say anything not in lock step with what they know...that is too threatening. Holy smokes what would happen if they had to think....??

Vaccine fear...your not alone

Seems to me that there are two camps developing in reference to the hot topic of vaccination. Fear seems to have underpinnings in most people sentiments, be it getting a dreaded life altering disease like Whooping cough or will the vaccine cause Autism or some other horrible reaction. Good and credible information is key for many of us to make good choices for ourselves and our families, and there is a lot of information much of it mis-information or information that is complex and confusing. Doctor have a Legal and Ethical obligation to have a communication process with patients that can be referred to as informed consent, this includes but is not limited to disclosing and discussing the risks and benefits of a treatment or proceedure.

Recently we took our two kids to get the required T-dAP shots to the family pediatrician. The kids nervouse about the shots politely asked the doctor some specific legitamate questions. The doctor clearly showed his impatience and responded that he really didnt have time to answer and we could reschedule. I couldnt believe the unprofessional cavalier attitude. Sadly this is a systemic morale problem that transcends the individual Doctor with profound adverse affects on us all.

The reason I decided to write this post is because I heard about a new local Doc. here in Missoula that was hosting a presentation on vaccines. Dr. Teresita Martinez of the Golgi clinic will share her personal and professional perspectives on this very important topic, I plan to attend. I certianly have formed some strong opinions regarding the issue as you may know ...especially if you have read other sections of this blog. First I was impressed that Dr. Martinez is brave enough to take the time to get involved with the community this way...(perhaps she doesnt like to golf). Second...I decided to call the clinic and feel it out, I got to speak with Dr. Martinez and ask a few questions...wow refreshing, I got real answers.

Gardisil & Genital Warts & Vacci-Nation

Another wonder drug is available from Merck, it is called Gardisil I guess it is supposed to prevent HPV or better known as genital warts...yikes, and some strains of HPV may cause cervical cancer. about 3700 women die each year from this type of cancer and is ranked 10th on the list of deadly cancers for women.

I read an article from Natural news about how the vaccine is triggering genital warts for those vaccinated and my courious nature decided to dig around, partly because I am already skeptical of the about the fervent marketing and push to vaccinate. natural news says..."Vaccine No Guarantee Against Cell Abnormalities
"Hundreds of thousands of women who are vaccinated with Gardasil and get yearly pap testing will still get high-grade dysplasia (cell abnormalities)," Ragogo reports. It's not a cancer vaccine, as media hype may lead some people to believe."

The juiciest info came from Judicial watch....they sue the FDA to release documents under the freedom of information act...and what they outline is very frightening!!!

Here is what I gleaned...

---thousands have had adverse reactions...and death after recieving the vaccine.

---it is very expensive and may cost billions of taxpayer money to vaccinate young girls

---Gardasil is not 100% effective against all HPVs. It is designed to protect against only four strains of HPV, even though there are over thirty strainsincluding at least fifteen that can cause cancer

---Gardisil was fast tracked (6 months)and testing is still being done..

---there are serious concerns as to its affect on female fertility

---Finally it doesnt cure or prevent cancer!!

these are serious issues...I would not get this shot or recomend it. I would respect a persons choice to have it if they had all the information...you know...INFORMED CONSENT! but we dont and the big Pharma makes insidious marketing campaigns using fear and deciet. OH did I use the word choice earlier?? States are making this vaccine mandatory...it is for people wanting to get into this country.....

did he say wears off...yup! the vaccine can wear off in 2and 1/2 years...that means repeated shots at $120.00 a pop....are you starting to get the picture??

Only in Texas(well not only)......"For several years the pharmaceutical firm has made aggressive efforts to market the Gardasil human papilloma virus vaccine as a prevention for cervical cancer. The governor of the state of Texas made the administration of this vaccine to young girls mandatory." source

Just google HPV or Merck or Gardisil...make up your own mind...dont get conned by your doctor either......ASK ASK ASK....................just thought id share my opinion.
